Lets talk traffic leaks, pretty obvious what one is, you work hard to get a visitor through your website door and then you lose them before they make a purchase or click a link to something more interesting on your site. This is a traffic leak, you have allowed them to get away when you have worked so hard to get them. I was amazed at how many panty selling sites have links to things like YouTube. Okay it might be funny, rude or a must see but why tell your visitor about it? Do you really believe that they won’t start having a good sniff around more Youtube clips than an order and a sniff of your panties?
Golden rule is never let customers get away unless you are controlling the route out of your site. Yes we all need reciprocal links so place them on the bottom half of your site and make sure you place a nice clickable picture above these links so that the surfer is more likely to click that than away from your site.
